Everyday Time & Money Savers

Good food provides our bodies with nourishment and fills our tables with loved ones… and it often takes a lot of time, money and effort to prepare.

This week we’re sharing three tips, to help you eat well every day – while spending less time and money in the process.

(1) Make a meal plan.

Know what you want to eat, which nights you want to eat it and which ingredients you will need to make it happen. Shopping with a list will save you a lot of money, and prevent food wastage. Get inspired by finding a food blog you love, or nerd out on cookbooks in the library – go forth and plan!

(2) Prepare in advance.

If you’re crunched for time every day, make time on the weekend to punch out a few recipes to use later in the week. Choose dishes that keep in the fridge, or meals that freeze well. This is not only a great way to save on preparation time, but it will reduce the temptation to order takeout on those busy nights.

(3) Keep it simple.

Every meal that you eat doesn’t have to be a culinary delight – it would be nice, but it’s not always practical to be gourmet. There are a myriad of deliciously inexpensive dishes that you can make with very few ingredients! Take pasta, for example; with a drizzle of olive oil, some crushed garlic, a handful of basil, some tomatoes and a sprinkling of cheese – you’ve got yourself a meal in under 10 minutes flat.
