Fajita Bar

Posted on

Fajitas – meaning ‘little meat’ – are a Tex-Mex street food involving long strips of meat and vegetables served on a tortilla. Accompanied by all kinds of delicious condiments, a fajita bar would make an excellent variation to the taco bar at your next event.

For a successful fajita bar, you’ll need a few key ingredients; marinated and grilled chicken and beef strips, as well as cooked strips of onion, and all colored bell peppers. If you’re feeling adventurous, throwing in some corn kernels and broccoli florets will stray from the traditional, but provide extra nutrition, texture and flavor.

When it comes to condiments, fajitas are served with salsa, guacamole, sour cream and shredded cheese. If you have time, homemade salsa and guacamole will make a huge, tasty difference to your delicious fajita bar.

Keep in mind that homemade guac will turn brown if you make it in advance. To avoid this, put your guacamole in a lidded bowl with a thin layer of water on top of the dip. This stops the avocado being oxygenated and turning brown, and the water can simply be tipped out before it is served.

With a pile of fresh corn and wheat tortillas, and all of the delicious ingredients above, your guests won’t be able to get enough of your fajita bar!
