Cooking the Perfect Turkey

Posted on

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and so is your favorite meal for the year. If you can’t wait to cook your turkey, we have some ideas to make this year’s bird the best you’ve ever had.

Firstly, let’s talk about the turkey itself. Choose a size that suits your group by counting up who is going to be gnawing on the turkey and count on one pound per turkey-eater. Remember, a good quality turkey is worth it!

Brush the turkey with butter, rub some salt and pepper over the skin and preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place the turkey breast-side down on a sturdy roasting pan – this is super important because the juices flow straight to the breast. Once you’re on the home stretch, turn the turkey over and brown the top.

Be prepared to cook the bird for up to 4 hours, poking it with a meat thermometer when you think it might be done. Try to limit how many times you open the oven door, as fluctuating temperatures can cause dry meat.

If you’re looking for a fully catered Thanksgiving spread, we’ve added a menu so you can see just how delicious we could make your holiday.

Do you have any turkey roasting secrets? We’d love to hear them! Comment below.
