Catering a Winter Wedding

Posted on

Weddings are a wonderful excuse to get friends and family together, celebrating love with delicious food and drinks. Since winter is the holiday season, festivity comes naturally at this time of year. If you’re planning for a winter wedding, we have some ideas to keep your catering cozy, and your guests full of comfort food.

The Jewish celebration of Hanukkah falls in the winter, along with the tradition of making latkes. Latkes are potato pancakes that are served piping hot with applesauce – making a perfect appetizer for a cold winter wedding.

For dinner, consider something hearty, like aromatic stews or steak with herbed sweet potato mash. Traditional roast dinners also work well during the winter – providing a comforting meal that reminds your guests of home.

After dinner, take advantage of the last days of apple season by heating up some spicy apple cider. Winter is absolutely incomplete without a Christmassy peppermint hot chocolate with a swirl of whipped cream on top. For a little more “adult” beverage, a Hot Toddy will easily keep your guests warm.
