Ditching the Recipe Rut

Posted on

This year, get into the habit of trying some new recipes. Many of us are in a recipe rut, and sometimes you don’t know just how entrenched you’ve become until you step out and try something new.

If you’re a meat-eater, why not try making a vegetarian dish one night a week. Apart from the environmental impact of eating less meat, you will become more creative with your vegetable intake when you’re not relying on meat for all your flavor.

Changing up your protein source can work wonders for your recipe rut. If you mostly eat chicken, try some read meat or fish. Also, when you think about the cuisine of different countries around the world you might just become inspired to create something new.

Lastly, take a moment to think of a couple of your favorite restaurants. Think about your favorite dishes at these restaurants, and what it might take to recreate the flavors that you enjoy so much. You might need to update your spice cabinet or learn a new trick or two.

How can you get out of your recipe rut for 2015?
