Fall Food

Posted on

Fall foods are back! Arguably one of the most iconic American seasons for food, late September boasts ingredients like apples, pears and pumpkins. Anything that can be sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg can be found this season, and we are excited.

The PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) is back, and so is the squash that made it famous in the first place. Pumpkins can be used for pies, muffins, cakes, pancakes, decorations and more. Pumpkin soup is a clear winner for those in San Francisco, where cool weather prevails during this time.

Sweet potatoes are the cool kid of the potato family. Paleo friendly and heavy in vitamin A, vitamin C and B6, sweet potatoes are now in season and ready for your creativity. Make them into fries, mash, bake them up or roast them diced. The choice is yours.

If you’re wondering why we haven’t mentioned apple recipes yet, you’ll have to wait until Friday when we dedicate a whole blog post to Apple Picking Season. These diverse, sweet fruits are one of our favorites – and we can’t wait to share more about how to access the freshest apples available.

Fall foods are incredible, so make sure you check out your local Farmer’s Market this weekend for excellent quality produce.
