Breaking Bad Eating Habits

Posted on

Say goodbye to drive thru convenience, fake flavored fast food and endless chemical additives. It’s time to eat clean, so we are giving you 5 key tips to breaking the bad food habits you may have fallen into.

Keep it Simple
Could you explain to a child how this food is made? If not, you’re probably eating something super processed. Do you know how to pronounce all the ingredients on the nutritional label? Cheap, overly processed food might say, “healthy” or, “smart” choice on the label – but don’t be fooled! If there are more than 7 ingredients in that item, ask yourself if you want those things inside your body.

No MSG
Monosodium Glutamate is a known carcinogen, as well as a contributing factor to a number of other diseases and disorders. MSG might make your snacks taste delicious, but nothing is worth paying for with your health.

Snack Right
Don’t let yourself get so hungry that you can’t function. Whenever you leave the house, pack some snacks to keep you from becoming ravenous. A handful of almonds, a banana, a yogurt smoothie or some crackers can make a huge difference to your day.

Preparation
If you want to break fast food habits, you’ll need to be prepared with your own version of “fast food.” Make extra food ahead of time and heat it up in minutes, that way you’ll be less inclined to order food when you’re exhausted.

Eat a Balanced Diet
If you’re trying to be healthy, but living off salad, you’ll be hungry. Fortify your salad with protein and grains, and make sure that you’re getting enough calories. If you undereat, you’re more likely to eat something unhealthy because you’re super hungry.

Healthy living is a synergy of quality nutrition and exercise. You’ll never regret treating your body well.
