Fourth of July Hot Dog Ideas

Posted on

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and it’s not too late to plan a party for your nearest and dearest. This holiday is traditionally a time for cookouts, and your party can take the humble hot dog to the next level with these loaded franks:

  • Tyler Florence Chili Dogs
Chili dogs are like two meals in one, and the Food Network is rolling out a recipe that is sure to taste exactly like the Fourth of July feels. Fresh, steaming hot chili, loaded on a soft white bun with a grilled sausage? Delicious.
  • Mission Style
Bacon wrapped and ready to go, these Mission Style hot dogs will make you feel like it’s 2am and you’re walking down Mission Street. These are simple to make, while packing a flavor punch that exudes from the bacon and jalapeno toppings. Try them with grilled onions, ketchup, and mustard.
  • Asian Fusion
Be inspired by the Doggy Style menu – mixing Asian tastes with American dogs. Asian slaw, kimchi, bahn-mi – nothing is off-limits when creating a perfect fusion recipe. Why not experiment with sesame ginger dressings, crunchy raw cabbage, and maybe even some crispy noodles atop your dog.

If you’re hosting a Fourth of July Party next weekend, get inspired by the myriad of decorative ideas that exist on the internet. Obviously Pinterest takes the cake for the most amazing collection of themed suggestions in one place, but we’ve also sourced some websites full of crafty goodness.

Family Now has a list of 101 Fourth of July Activities, Recipes and Crafts – featuring some truly unique ways to celebrate our country through food and color. Our favorite item was #68 – the Independence Punch.

Check out the Cake Pops over at Ellie Bean Design. Cake pop kits are available at most Safeway stores, so this impressive display of patriotism is easy as pie – you could even make them with kids!

If you’re looking for more than just sugary treats, there’s plenty of Americana meal inspiration at Mom’s Confession. Burgers, dogs and more for your independence event.

Have a wonderful 4th of July, and enjoy the relaxation of summer!
